The story is about an orphan, Oliver Twist, who endures a miserable existence in a workhouse and then is placed with an undertaker. He escapes and travels to London where he meets the Artful Dodger, leader of a gang of juvenile pickpockets.
Oliver Twist forever!
Talk about a story for the ages! Knowing each character inside and out, I was like, “CHARLES!!! Why would you DO this to OLIVER!!!” Such a tale of light and darkness!
Have high hopes!
People are so mean to this poor boy! An overall good book.

This book was extremely depressing throughout the book but I was enjoyed it nonetheless.

A bit confusing at the language and time , as it being from a different tone period, but the end is satisfying!!!
Very great story
Similar to Huckleberry Finn, Oliver Twist has great plot and characters all portraying the various classes and people of the time. Dickens does a very great job expressing the themes of poverty, nature v. Nurture, and portrayal of emotions from grief to affection. Definitely recommend to anyone. It’s a definite classic!

I lovely story deep in message and heart. A real joy reading at an earlier time. Makes one grateful to be.
Very well written and told I enjoyed it very much.
This book too me more than 2 years to finish. I must say I became very attached to the characters and by the end I was almost in tears. Oliver Twist is a must read- even if takes a while. Some parts are hard to get through but when you get the dramatic last few chapters it is well worth it. One of Dickens' best in my opinion- but it's the only one I've actually finished. 😅😅
